Getting Rid of Dynasty

It’s been two weeks since I sold Dynasty, the puppy I had. Boy am I glad I did. It was a tough decision to make. One of the toughest decisions I had to make in the most recent part of my life. I was very indecisive about letting her gp and this indecision also brought me more unhappiness.

My dad had mentioned to me and advised that given that you are thinking of letting your dog go and that you are indecisive that you should just let her go. Because this indecision itself is nerve-wrecking.

I came to the realisation that my lifestyle is not one of supporting a puppy. Especially a high energy one. Dynasty was a border collie mix. A dog that would also grow up to be mid-size to large.

I was agaisnt the idea of getting a crate, but due to the wreckage she was doing when I was not at home, and the constant pottying that she would do in the apartment, I had decided to get her crate-trained as a last resort.

I just didn’t know how to deal with her nor take care of her properly while I enjoyed my freedom in my life and doing everything in my own terms. Also, taking her outside when it wasn’t convenient for me to do so wasn’t something I was happy about.

So there you have it, I prioritized my happiness as the most important aspect of my life, and the decision to let her go became more and more seemless. Given that she was bringing me agony at many a times, it was no longer conductive to foster this relationship with her.

And this goes the same with any aspect of our lives. Whether it is the place we live or the job or the people around us. If they don’t bring us happiness, we are to cut them loose in any way, shape or form. Our happiness is the most important aspect of our lives. This is what I myself beleive and advocate for.
