11 Ways to be Really Happy All The Time

  1. Meditate

I have been meditating for about 20 years and it is the one thing/activity that stuck with me throughout the times, trials and tribulations. I swear by meditation and I know that is essential for everyone to meditate. The reason why it is essential is because it is part of the five well known elements of life. These elements include Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Aether. Aether is an element that needs to be incorporated by us to live in harmony with our environment and is an essential and has a pivotal role in our happiness. Aether is consumed through meditation. So do yourself a favour and start meditating today if you haven’t done so. And if you already have a meditation practice and are still not feeling really happy all the time then read on to find out more of the missing ingredients in your life.

2. Drink Smoothies & Milkshakes

The reason why I say drink smoothies and milkshakes is because they bring so much happiness and are so simple to make at home. Get yourself a nice blender, frozen fruits and cold fruit juice; add some ice, blend it and voila, you’ve got yourself a smoothie. Make a big cup so you can sip on it and reap the happiness that it brings. You can also make vegetable smoothies every so often and also milkshakes. With milkshakes you just add milk, syrup (chocolate, strawberry, caramel) and ice and blend it all together. Freaking awesome stuff.

Not only will these beverages bring you happiness in the moments that you are drinking them, but they provide your body with fuel for happiness in the medium and long term. For, at the end of the day, they are very nutritional beverages and your body will or will learn to utilize them wisely.

3. Drink Herbal Teas

Herbs are the original medicine. By incorporating and utilizing herbs in your life, you are infusing yourself with the raw power of nature. As we consume meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, beans and legumes, we are missing an essential factor in our lives which is herbs. By missing out on this vital force, we are disconnecting from our true essence, happiness and nature. So go ahead and drink your herbal beverages on a daily and nightly basis and reap the benefits of the magical power of nature embodied in your being.

4. Smoke (Herbs & Tobacco)

If you were to need to choose between smoking herbs or drinking them, I would choose smoking them. The reason for this is that most people get an ample amount of the water element by consuming various beverages. Fire elemental consumption is what is missing in the vast majority of peoples lives, and thus, smoking the herbs that you bought comes as a priority. But if you can do both, especially every once in a while then all power to you, drink also your herbs and be blissed.

5. Practice Self Awareness

By practicing self awareness, you will learn to notice any shift in mood that you have right when it happens. Take some time, perhaps during your meditation, to think about what caused this shift in mood or a dwindle in your level of happiness. Whatever it may be, you need to react and take action and make changes in your life so that it does not happen again.

6. Discriminate against what you don’t like and invite what you do like

As you practice self awareness, you will be able to start discriminating against the people, events, circumstances, things etc. that don’t bring you the utmost happiness. And you will invite more and more of what you like. Don’t just think about the stuff and things and people that you don’t like. Think about those aspects in your life that you do like and admire. Replace giving your time and energy to that which doesn’t bring you happiness and focus more on what does make you happy. Soon, you will find that you are reaching higher and higher states of happiness and having more and more prolonged periods of feeling these elevated states.

7. Be kind, courteous and respectful (to people that deserve it)

You don’t need holy books, scriptures, messengers or prophets to tell you that you should be a good person. It is intrinsic human nature for you to be a good person. For you need to be good to survive. You need the goodness of others for you to survive (such as the goodness of your parents for providing for you while you are a toddler) to being a good enough person to win friends. If you weren’t good on any level you would not be ab le to survive. So the more good you are, the more you are fit for survival and happiness.

At the same time, keep your energies of love at bay. Do not squander your loving and kind energy to those that will inturn sabotage you. Again, learn to discriminate between individuals that bring you back joy, happiness and love and those that don’t “deserve” it because they are ill-meaning.

8. Stop believing in god

There is a lot of contradiction, rules and regulation and a robbery of freedoms when it comes to the belief in god. Each god comes with their own scriptures and messengers and it is all a big mess. The vast majority of god’s that people believe in are jealous gods who will punish you for not worshipping them and worshipping them in the way they want you to worship them. Get out of that as soon as possible, take agency and responsibility for your life, be free and be happy. Check out this article and video about the futility of believing in god.

9. Be Grateful and Satisfied

Learn to be grateful and satisfied with what you have. You, at this moment, have everything you need. If you’ve got a bed and a roof over your head. That’s awesome. Believe me, I’ve been homeless and have slept on nothing by a sidewalk and not even a blanket. So just having that is something to be really thankful for. You’ve got food, that’s also amazing. Know that with my being homeless, I had no idea where the next bite was coming from, let alone a meal! You’ve got a warm shower and clean clothes. Trust me, that’s next level stuff.

Just these little things that you can acknowledge that you have will take you towards oblivious states of happiness. At all times be grateful, thankful and happy.

10. Love Your Breath

    Continuing on from the previous being grateful and happy. Well, lets take for instance that you are reading this yet you are homeless, don’t know where the next meal is coming from, no shower and no clean clothes (You/they could be reading this on a computer at the public library like I used to do when I was homeless)? Then guess what? Be grateful that you are alive! And if that’s difficult, because you are in so much dispar, then I’ll give you the biggest take away. The Breath. There is so much satisfaction in just breathing! Imagine the suffering that one entails when they are suffocating and out of breath; well, the polar opposite is true when you CAN actually breath. Just bask in the satisfaction that you get when you take a deep breath in. And bask in the relief you gain when you exhale all that breath out. Realise that this sublime joy of just breathing is with you at all times.

    11. You need money, and lots of it

      You are great right now, no matter what. However, as you continue on this journey of life.. there is so much for you to attain and experience. From amazing food to crazy adventures. From big boy and big girl toys to travelling different destinations. All what life has to offer needs money. Having the basics is great, for now. But in the future, you want to bask in the abundance that this great planet and it’s people has to offer. And with that, you need money, and lot’s of it. So you can get anything you want and do anything you please. The first thing you need to do with this regard is to acknowledge that you need money and that you love money. Because loving money is loving life.
