Integrative Medicine

What does the future hold? What am I set out to do? Well, I am setting out to change the medical system. What I wants to do is to integrate the medical system, the western medical model to include alternative healing modalities such as herbology, naturopathy, traditional Chinese medicine etc.

We understand the efficascy of the western medical model. For example, healing broken bones and gunshot wounds and the varied surgical procedures that have enabled the healing of a multitude of ailments. However, that does not dimish from the efficacy of alternative modalities. That instead of dealing with the symptoms, targetting the root cause of the ailment. A lot of the western medicine pharmacuticals target the symptoms but not the cause of the ailment or issue. With herbs for example, using a more long-term approach, this method targets a holistic, whole body approach and takes into account the spiritual and energetic aspect for the proper function of the individual.

So I would like to see different kinds of medicine taking place in clinics and hospitals having to include the ideas and perspectives of these different aspects and modalities and different avenues to attain maximum wellness. Although it may not be 100% scientific, remember that science is not the end-all-be-all way of thinking or understanding. There is a lack of understanding in science with regards to the psyche and the spirit. Notwithstanding the other factors that are involved in an individuals total wellness which include and are not limited to a persons environment, social welfare and more. All these factors need to be taken into account.

I am here to see through it that these ideas flourish with like-minded people who also have a desire to see these changes take place. These changes are to take place in areas such as western medicine including mental health as well as other areas in society where we want to see some positive changes. The medical field is an important place to begin with but let us remember that “conflict of interest” seems to be the very fabric of the way we are doing things in this economy. i.e. a doctors, nurses and hospitals needs sick people to thrive in their business. Lawyers, courthouses, policemen, prisons need criminals to stay employed and in business. We need a common goal for all of our society for us to function well and for people to help one another thrive for the benefit of us all.
